FEBRUARY 12, 2019 WEBINAR - Functional Motor Skills: "Big 6 + 6" [LIVE] 90286

Course Description

"Big 6" is a term coined by behavioral specialist and educator, Dr. Eric Haughton, back in the 1980's and refers to what are the major fine motor skills -- six additional major movements have since been added. TalkTools Instructor and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), Risca Solomon, will delve into why the "Big 6 + 6" motor movements are so essential to everyday living. Instruction will include challenges and roadblocks associated with learning these skills in the special needs population and provide techniques and strategies for client success -- and overall quality of everyday life.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • specify the skills that comprise the Big 6 +6
  • identify delays or other issues associated with these skills
  • establish a baseline to begin a therapy plan
  • apply 3 techniques to build client skills
