Based on feedback from therapists, augmentative communication is a tool that is gaining interest. This webinar will explore what augmentative communication is, what devices are out there and how you can utilize them as part of an integrated therapy plan

Participants will be able to:

  1. identify 2 types of augmentative communication devices
  2. Integrate augmentative communication techniques with other tools and techniques in a therapy setting
  3. Provide a basic plan for parents and caregivers to understand alternative communication techniques, including augmentative communication

        Presenter Bio

        Monica Purdy, MA, CCC-SLP has more than 16 years of professional experience specializing in helping children with special needs to communicate. Monica is PROMPT and SOS trained, familiar with sign language, and well-versed in the use of augmentative devices. She is the owner of Kids Abilities in Indianapolis, IN. In addition to her private practice, Monica is a member of the TalkTools® speakers bureau and has been invited to speak at numerous conventions and seminars across the U.S. and internationally. She is a graduate of Ball State University.
